SUMMARY:Cut To Club 2025
DESCRIPTION:This challenging 3.5km course takes entrants along the Dawesville Channel (The Cut) from the Mandurah Estuary into the open ocean\, around the southern groyne\, past ‘The Wedge’ (renowned surf break) to finish on Pyramids Beach outside the recently upgraded clubhouse. \nFor those competitors that are a little less adventurous there will be a shorter 2.25km course available which will see swimmers finish in the Cut before reaching the ocean\, adjacent to the clubhouse. \nThe event is building upon the previous success and is destined to become a pillar of the South West’s Open Water Swim Season with the stunning location\, the challenge\, the rare opportunity to swim through this amazing waterway being sure to attract both seasoned and competitive swimmers alike. \nWith a strictly limited numbers of entrants\, be sure to register early and secure your place in this iconic event.

There is also a range of activities including mini golf\, giant bubbles\, nature & sensory play space and lots more.\n\nBring your chairs and rugs\, pack a picnic or enjoy a sausage sizzle by Port Bouvard Surf Lifesaving Club. You will only need to attend one session\, which should finish around 11am or earlier depending on numbers and trainers available to assist. SRCs who are set to complete the bronze course at the end of September will not need to sign up\, as you will be attending on 25th September as part of your first session anyway.\n\nSign up will be completed via the ‘training events’ section under the elearning tab of the members portal. If you have any trouble accessing this after reading the attached guide please let me know and I can attempt to enrol you manually in your chosen requal session. This system will send you automatic email reminders 1 week before and 1 day before your chosen session. You can change your enrolment through the ‘my training’ section.

SUMMARY:Intensive Surf Rescue Certificate Course
DESCRIPTION:The Surf Rescue Certificate is the starting point for young people from 13 years to learn and gain skills in aquatic rescue\, CPR and surf safety. A building block for those coming through the Nippers program to keep them engaged in a community activity whilst improving and developing their skills. The Surf Rescue Certificate enables the candidate to actively patrol and wear the reds and yellows whilst still being mentored. Once they turn 15 they can complete a conversion course to the Bronze Medallion. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat does the course involve?\nYou will learn board and tube rescues in ocean conditions\, First Aid\, Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillation\, radios and patient management in a fun but controlled environment. You will make great friends and gain valuable life skills. \n\n\n\n\nPre requisites for the SRC award:\n\n13+ years of age.\nPool swim of 200m in 5 mins or less.\nFinancial member.\n\nFinal assessment involving a 100m run – 100m swim – 100m run\, board and tube rescues and signals. \nPlease complete the enrolment form sent via surfguard email. Bronze Medallion holders are active on patrol and help mentor the youth patrolling members building a good team environment. \n\n\nWhat does the course involve?\nYou will learn board & tube rescues in ocean conditions\, spinal management\, First Aid\, Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillation\, Oxygen\, radios and patient management. You will get the opportunity to join a patrol team and fine tune your skills by adding to your learning. That can be in a number of ways\, you may wish to go on to be IRB Crew or improve your beach management skills and go for a Silver Medallion. There are lots of opportunities once you have completed your Bronze Medallion. \n\n\n\n\nPre requisites for this award:\n\n15+ Years\nPool swim of 400m in 9 mins or less\nFinal assessment involving a 200m Run\, 200m Swim\, 200m Run\, board & tube rescue\, spinals\, signals and first Aid scenarios\n\n\n\nPlease complete the enrolment form sent via surfguard email. DESCRIPTION:Each session will include both the wet and dry components of the requal so please dress appropriately and bring dry clothes\, towel\, water\, sunscreen\, hat and anything else you may require (e.g. goggles if desired). You will only need to attend one session\, which should finish around 11am or earlier depending on numbers and trainers available to assist. SRCs who are set to complete the bronze course at the end of September will not need to sign up\, as you will be attending on 25th September as part of your first session anyway.\n\nSign up will be completed via the ‘training events’ section under the elearning tab of the members portal. If you have any trouble accessing this after reading the attached guide please let me know and I can attempt to enrol you manually in your chosen requal session. This system will send you automatic email reminders 1 week before and 1 day before your chosen session. You can change your enrolment through the ‘my training’ section.
