Welcome to Surf Sports at Port Bouvard

Training Schedule

The week commencing the 9th October 2017 we will be beginning the season’s surf sports training. We welcome anyone who has an interest in competition, improving their fitness or just getting some extra skills practice in. To begin with, we will be meeting 5-6pm on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at the Falcon Primary School Oval, for circuits and general fitness. This will then transition into further water & beach training in a few weeks.

Carnivals and Competitions

Timed Swims

Surf Sports team members need to complete a timed  open water Competition Skills Evaluation swim to  take part in competitions, country and states championship events.

Timed swims:
U9/U10 – minimum 150m swim in less than 12 minutes
U11 to U14 – minimum 288m swim in less than 9 minutes

General Information

Being fit and healthy is a major part of surf life saving and the lifestyle that surrounds it.

  • Paddling on a racing mal, or nippers board
  • Beach sprints and flags
  • Having a crack at paddling surf skis
  • Or jumping in the surf boat for a row

As well as training throughout the season there are also many opportunities to compete both socially and at elite levels.

    • Intra club carnivals throughout the season to keep fitness and skills up to scratch and points towards club champions
    • Local area interclub carnivals.
    • Country championships
    • State and National titles
